Mikey's Place is a handicap accessible playground in Wethersfield, CT. It was built in memory of Michael Daversa.

In Loving Memory of Michael James Daversa
August 26, 1995 – May 19, 1998

Michael “Mikey” James Daversa passed away on May 19, 1998. He was two years and nine months old. Mikey was a very happy, loving, and bright little boy who was born with the neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This special little boy with the big blue eyes and award-winning smile taught so many of us about the true meaning of life – enjoy each and every day, never take anything for granted, and surround yourself with goodness and love.

In Mikey’s memory, our vision of a wheelchair accessible community playground has been created. Mikey’s Place allows children of all abilities to be able to play together on one level playing field. Our hopes are that the joy that Mikey brought to us will be passed on to other children and that his spirit will be kept alive through the eyes of each and every child who benefits from this very special place.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us bring this “happy place for every face” to life. We ask you, please, to always remember the kindness and generosity that brought Mikey’s Place here for everyone to enjoy.
