Mindful Shenandoah Valley offers various classes and workshops, as well as daylong and residential retreats in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and the greater Washington, D.C. area to help you discover the amazing and healing benefits of mindfulness practice.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Shell Fischer, founder of Mindful Shenandoah Valley, offers 25 years of mindfulness practice and study. She's a full teacher and senior practitioner with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, D.C., (IMCW), trained in the two-year Meditation Teacher Training Institute in Washington, D.C. by IMCW's founder and guiding teacher, Dr. Tara Brach - one of the nation's leading Vipassana teachers. She's also a 1993 graduate of Naropa University, and a graduate of the MBSR teacher training program led by Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and the Stress Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Along with Insight Meditation, she also teaches MBSR as an education partner with Valley Health, a regional six-hospital system in the Shenandoah Valley.

Shell's main goal as a teacher is to pass along the many ways in which mindfulness can help reduce your stress, as well as guide you in generating an abundance of kindness and compassion for yourself, which can greatly increase your health and well-being.

Along with meditation retreats, the flagship offering is the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction workshop.

The upcoming Winter 2015 workshops will be held May 17, 18, &19 in Winchester, Front Royal, and Leesburg, VA.
