Rules of Conduct on the Montpelier, Ohio Police Department Facebook Page:
1. Always remain respectful. This page, while accepting that adverse comments are part of speech, will be use to relate information in a positive way. If the administrator deems your post is unacceptable it may be hidden or deleted, and the user banned.
2. Profanity will not be tolerated. Users who use profranity will automatically be banned.
3. Directly attacking an individual without substantial fact is not allowed. While this page is considerd a public forum, no person shall use this forum to demean, verbally abuse, insult, or otherwise defame a person, or profession. If the administrator deems your post is unacceptable it may be hidden or deleted, and the user banned.
4. Advertisement posts are not allowed. These posts will be deleted.
5. Direct messaging is NOT the acceptable form of filing a complaint. FB is not a constanly monitored forum. For complaints contact the department directly at 419-485-3121.
While the Montpelier Police Department strives to ensure people are heard and we believe whole-heartedly in First Amendment rights, this Facebook page is NOT a forum for venting unsupported rants or direct attacks on persons or professions. In other words, if can't be nice, then don't post.
