Mountaintop Musicians

The Mountaintop Musicians is a student-run organization based at the University of the South. We aim to improve the quality and quantity of music on campus.

As concert organizers, we organize Sewaneroo, a 12-hour outdoor music festival that takes place every April. We also host or contribute to various benefit concerts throughout the year. As of 2012, we will be hosting the Fall Party Concert.

Apart from organizing concerts, we provide practice space and networking opportunities for musicians on campus. Our practice facility is located in the basement of Guerry Auditorium and may be reserved by any member of the Sewanee community. Various social events throughout the year give musicians the opportunity to meet, discuss music, and in some cases, form new bands.

Our lecture series brings professionals in the music industry to Sewanee to discuss the inner workings of this vast media realm. Topics cover everything from luthier workshops to panel discussions on the future of record labels with Nashville executives.
