Most honey in your supermarket is pasteurized – “cooked” to over 180 degrees and filtered under high pressure - to give it a clear and golden appearance. While it may look pretty on the shelf, the extreme heat – along with the addition of diatomaceous earth then high-pressure filtering - actually destroy much of the good nutrients found naturally in honey. Many folks also say it also takes away from honey’s characteristically rich flavor and aroma. Nature Nate's honey is uniquely different: collected from local beekeepers, then gently warmed to 125 degrees, and strained before being bottled and boxed.
