NANS, (a chapter of INS) is a nonprofit org dedicated to advancing the field of neuromodulation through education, clinical research and innovation.

Neuromodulation encompasses bio engineering, basic science, issues at the neural interface and care of people living with a wide array of clinical disorders.

Neuromodulation as a therapy is used to treat such disorders as pain, angina pectoris, peripheral vascular disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, MS and urinary disorders.

Neuromodulation includes spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators, pacemakers, cochlear implants, retinal implants and implantable pumps.

NANS members are PM&R, medical & osteopathic doctors, nurses, Physician assistants, basic scientists, psychologists, representatives of industry, clinical research and anyone working in the pain-related disciplines.
