The NWBP provides excellent water and beach safety for the many people who use our beaches.

North Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters is located at 15th Avenue and the Beach. The Patrol has a total of 70 highly trained men and women who provide excellent water and beach safety for the many people who use our beaches. The Patrol has a total of 20 lifeguard stands from 25th Avenue to 4th Avenue and 3 stands on the Inlet Beach on JFK Blvd, Ocean Avenue and Surf Avenue. The Patrol also provides 20 Surf Chairs for the handicap. The locations are at 15th Avenue, 6th Avenue and Ocean Avenue in the Inlet. North Wildwood has a surfing beach between 11th & 13th Avenues, with a lifeguard on duty. Lifeguard protection for the entire beach is from 10am until 5:30pm, weather permitting.

Beach regulations are posted at every street entrance to the beach. The Patrol encourages all beach goers to follow the regulations and always listen to directions from the lifeguards. When the lifeguards are preparing to leave for the day at 5:25pm, the water will be cleared so the bathing public knows that protection has ended for the day. The Patrol encourages beach goers not to swim on unguarded beaches.

Volleyball nets are provided on 19th Avenue, 13th Avenue, 8th Avenue and Ocean Avenue.

The North Wildwood Beach Patrol holds a Junior Lifeguard Program for children 4th through 9th grades. The children are taught beach safety, beach regulations and exercise procedure. The class runs Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am-11am, for 4 weeks in the month of July.

Some events held on the North Wildwood beaches: Beschen- Callahan Memorial Lifeguard Races, Boogie Board Races, Christmas in July and the Annual Around the Island Row.
