Pipe Band of Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont
The Pipes and Drums of Norwich University are dedicated to learning and performing to the highest level possible. Any student is welcome to join, regardless of skill and experience. The band plays both locally and regionally. It is registered as Grade V with the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA).
Norwich University is unique among colleges in that it offers courses in bagpiping.
The kilt the band wears is the official tartan of Norwich University. The school colors of maroon and gold are placed on a Navy background. The rest of the uniform is loosely based on that of the school's Corps of Cadets, keeping the military feel while allowing room for civilian students to join.
It is one of the few collegiate pipe bands in the country and only one among three in New England.
