Meet the Owners;
Harold and Rustina (Rusty) Hansen are the third family to own this home since it was built by the Steele family in 1871. Oak Ridge Farm has hosted many weddings and events over the years; hayrides, bonfires, and BBQ’s, graduation celebrations, and birthdays to name a few. The beautiful landscaped grounds and antiquity of this old Southern, Federal style, home adds to the atmosphere of the occasion.
Harold and Rusty traveled all over the Western Hemisphere while Harold worked for IBM before settling in Mooresville, NC, in 1982. They appreciated meeting new people wherever they journeyed to and so it was natural for them to want to extend that same hospitality they had experienced to others traveling to the Piedmont. The Hansen's have been sharing their home as a Bed & Breakfast for over 25 years. They have enjoyed meeting many wonderful people from around the world.
Harold has worked as a manager of strategic planning, business process improvement, and business continuity for several large corporations. He takes pleasure in horticulture and has personally designed and planted the landscaping at Oak Ridge Farm. Harold enjoys teaching adult bible classes. Rusty has been an educator for many years and stays involved with students through tutoring and as an educational therapist.
The Hansens are grateful to God for their four grown children and seven grandchildren; as well as the privilege to live in such a beautiful location.
