The Los Angeles Dolphin Project, our primary research program, is one of the longest-running continuous data collections on marine mammals in California waters. It is the source of numerous scientific papers on cetacean and pinniped ecology and conservation. We are currently focused on the effects of marine pollutants on dolphins, particularly in the form of skin diseases and deformations, the causes of which, may have implications on human health.

Since our inception in 1998, we have sought to form collaborative relationships with other researchers and organizations, to obtain a more comprehensive and multi-disciplinary picture of the marine environment.

Over the years, OCS has developed many education and outreach programs, pointed, not only to raise public awareness of marine environmental issues, but to stimulate active social engagement in environmental issues.

PLease, check our website at www.oceanconservation.org to learn more about all our ongoing research projects and our educational outreach efforts.
