Oneida Experiential opened its doors in 1994 with a primary focus in experiential work with social services groups/clients which then led to activity based, hands-on learning. The experiential activities are engaging-which can be fun, exciting and sometimes frustrating as they mirror real-life lessons. Experiential learning is an effective mode designed to teach multiple concepts to diverse types of groups. We act on the belief that it is much easier to learn and retain knowledge "by doing" verses by being told. As tribal departments within the Oneida Organization began to see the speed and power of experiential learning they requested the services of the Experiential Department, which moved our focus to also serving internal departments. Oneida employees began experiencing the impact of our ropes course and experiential programming within their departments. Our engaging and often times active learning activities focused on topic like: Leadership, time management, group development, conflict management, and motivation. Oneida experiential mainly served groups. Individuals became interested in participating in our activities. At that time, the Experiential Department did not have programming options set up to meet this need. hearing our client's needs, we developed the Adventure side of Oneida Experiential and Adventure.

Today we provide learning venues for individuals, departments, groups and corporations. These venues range from activities that are conducted in a classroom setting, to a multi-day kayak trip to Lake superior. If a group has a specific area of concern Oneida Experiential can individualize programming accordingly.
