The Candidates

Frank Bart
Frank Bart earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Eastern Illinois University in 1993 and is currently attending the Executive Masters of Business Administration program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is a certified Strategic Planner and certified Instructor. His wife of ten years is Christine Bart and he is the father of two children, Antonette -10 and Anthony 4. Frank has served the community as a trustee for the American Legion Post 911 in Wauconda, a Director for the National Guard Association of Illinois, a member of the Transfiguration Athletic Board, an assistant girls volleyball coach and as a past Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist

Chuck McEwen

Chuck McEwen earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Illinois State University in 1997. He joined CDW Corporation in February of 1998 as an Account Manager where he has flourished and is now working in Commercial sales, managing a team of 21 account managers covering Ohio and Kentucky. Chuck McEwen is married, the father to two sons, Charlie (10) and Luke (8), and has been a Wauconda resident since 1998. Chuck is a mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County and volunteers as a baseball coach with the Lakes Youth Athletic Association

Gina Strelecki

Gina Strelecki started working as a retail manager for Casual Corner in 1989 after graduating from Indiana University-Bloomington. In her first year with the company she was ranked as one of the top 100 sales managers in the company. In 1995, she attended Indiana University-Northwest and completed her Dental Hygiene Degree in 1998. Since graduation, she has worked as a private practice clinician. She is Past President of both her state, and local dental hygiene organizations. She is the Bylaws and Procedure Chair for North Suburban Dental Hygienists’ Society and Liaison for Illinois at the American Dental Hygiene Association, Institute for Oral Health. Through her work at the institute, she helps raise funds for dental health scholarships, grants, and fellowships. She volunteers in schools, hospitals, and libraries to help educate adults and children about the importance of dental health and nutrition. Currently, she participates in her children’s school activities and fundraisers.

Manuelita “Lita” Vargas

Lita Vargas has been a resident of Wauconda for some years now as well as a resident of Lake County since 1989. She served 7 years as the President for the board of Northern Ice Fast-Pitch for girls ages 8 to 18, based in Wauconda. She has donated many hours to help advance the young girls of Wauconda. She has worked as a Free-lance Interpreter with 25 plus years working with the Hispanic population throughout Lake County, Parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Mexico. Lita is the proud mother of 4 having also donated many hours during and after their attendance at Transfiguration School. She has some good years left in her and believes that as a bi-lingual multi-task person, she will make a good trustee for this community.

Teri A. Burke

Teri Burke earned her Business Administration from DePaul University and completed her MBA at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2006. Teri Burke is married and mother to two children Ty (11) and Bailey (10). Burke is very active in a variety of community events and establishments such as, the Wauconda Food Pantry, Lake County Diaper Bank, Wauconda Area Queens “Adopt a Highway” (Darrell and Rt. 12), as well as Relay for Life 5k fundraiser for Cancer research. The Burke family supports and participates in the Wauconda Bulldogs Youth Sports for football and cheerleading assisting with coaching and merchandising.
