A 5 star RV Resort community with sites available for sale and rent.
It was an extremely warm September desert day in the year 1984, when the opening of the first phase took place at Outdoors Resorts of America.
There were 131 lots ready for occupancy at that time, and these lots sold rapidly to the active adults who found this special and unique location in the Coachella Valley desert.
The first clubhouse and the completion of the first 9 hole golf course followed in 1985, with phase two completed soon afterwards. Phases three and four followed in 1986 and in 1987 phase five and six were built along with 9 additional holes of golf. At that time, the resort boasted 27 holes of golf, 14 tennis courts, 6 satellite stations, complete with laundry facilities, swimming pools and spas, and large restrooms. The two premium clubhouse complexes also have swimming pools and spas, and the clubhouse pool at El Saguaro has an Olympic sized lap pool. A first class exercise and health club area is housed in La Palma clubhouse. In 1988 the resort was completed and this grand location became and remains a first rate country club facility.
The appeal for adults interested in the active tennis programs, golf, swimming, biking and hiking, was obvious to those who purchased their lots in those early years and remains so today, making this a classic choice for snowbirds and Californians, as well, to select for their winter destination resort.
In 1994, Outdoor Resorts America became Outdoor Resort Palm Springs, an independent corporation and Home Owners Association, nationally recognized as a Five Star Country Club Recreational Vehicle destination resort.
In 1985, Ramon Road was a two lane road, with very little traffic and stores were quite a distance away. ORA, was considered to be located in a "rural" section of Cathedral City. Those early buyers have realized a tremendous increase in the value of their lots and have seen remarkable growth in the resort as well as in the area, which is so desirable due to its central location in the Coachella Valley. A rather small family of owners was gathered here in those early days, and 60 of the original owners continue to return to the resort and enjoy the extended family that makes Outdoor Resort Palm Springs the grand facility that it is today.
