As stated by the Church of the Nazarene, “The chief purpose of all persons — indeed, all of the creation — is to worship, love, and serve God.
OUR Vision for Christian Ministry
As stated by the Church of the Nazarene, “The chief purpose of all persons — indeed, all of the creation — is to worship, love, and serve God. God has made himself known in His deeds of creation and redemption. As the Redeemer, God has called into existence a people, the Church, who embody, celebrate, and declare His name and His ways. The life of God with His people and the world constitutes the Story of God. That story is recorded principally in the Old and New Testaments, and continues to be told by the resurrected Christ who lives and reigns as Head of His Church. The Church lives to declare the whole Story of God. This it does in many ways—in the lives of its members who are even now being transformed by Christ, through preaching, the sacraments, in oral testimony, and in mission. All members of the Body of Christ are called to exercise a ministry of witness and service. No one is excluded.”
One word sums it all up; REAL. Seemingly, if something or someone isn’t “real” they’re not for real. But what does all that mean? At Pataskala Church of the Nazarene REAL means that the root of all we do and believe is The Bible. Since we believe in the authority of the scripture only real beliefs comes from the TRUTH found in God’s Word.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
WE BELIEVE
We believe in one God that expresses himself in three personalities of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is inclined to evil and that nature continually.
We believe that the ones who do not repent of their sins are hopelessly and eternally lost.
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and saved from penalty of sin which is eternal death.
We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
We believe that the biblical principle for support of the church is through the Tithes and Offerings of the believers.
We believe that the source of growth in God’s church is the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Sixteen Articles of Faith as presented in the “Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.”
