The PSU-WB TRIO/Student Support Services project provides students with the skills, resources, and support to increase retention and graduation rates.
Student Support Services (SSS) is funded through a federal TRIO grant competition, which awards funds to institutions of higher education to provide opportunities for academic development, to assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. SSS projects also may provide grant aid to current participants who are receiving Federal Pell Grants.
SSS offers advising provided by professional staff and student peers; presents seminars on academic, career, financial, and social opportunities; provides study spaces, computers and printing; hosts social and academic events; and coordinates a summer math program for eligible incoming first year students.
