A Non Profit Organization dedicated to finding a cure for Diamond Blackfan anemia, DBA.
Peyton Williams will be 2 the end of December, she's been diagnosed with a Very rare blood disorder called Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA). DBA is a rare blood disorder, characterized by a failure of the bone marrow (the center of the bone where blood cells are made) to produce red blood cells. This failure causes DBA patients to become severely anemic. According to the DBA registry, DBA affects approximately five in a million or .0005% of infants worldwide (about 700 cases on record). Most patients survive on monthly blood transfusions, and some respond to steriod therapy to help produce red blood cells. There is currently NO cure for DBA. Since DBA is so rare funding for research is hard to come by, that's why your support of Peyton's Pals is so important.
