Pittsfield Food Co-Op

The Pittsfield Food Co-Op is a natural foods and home products buying club that has served the Pittsfield community for over 40 years. New members welcome!

Why Join?
- low prices for natural and organic products;
- wider brand and product selection than found in local stores;
- meet others who value healthy eating, fair trade, and sustainable living.

How Does it Work?
- products are supplied by UNFI, a national distributor;
- members order through a club account in the UNFI web site;
- UNFI delivers to the UU Church on Wendell St. in Pittsfield every 4 weeks;
members meet the delivery truck to assist with unloading and sorting and to pick up and pay for their order by check or cash.

What are the “rules”?
- Members pay an annual fee of $10;
- no minimum order is required; orders do not need to be placed every month;
- orders must be picked up at delivery time, as the co-op has no storage capacity.*

More about the Co-op
Serving the Pittsfield community for almost 40 years, the buying club is an informal organization that relies on its members to carry out the basic functions needed to operate (e.g. communicating with UNFI, opening accounts for new members, submission of the club order each month, sorting and distributing the delivered products, and collecting payments from members.)

UNFI offers a full range of grocery products including frozen and refrigerated foods, packaged and canned foods, baby foods, bulk foods, paper products, cleaning goods, personal products, pet foods and vitamins and other supplements. Fresh meats and produce are NOT available.

The UNFI web site offers a “share” feature so members can indicate they wish to split a case of a product with other members.
