North American Bison—raised on plains grass and sagebrush—is among the leanest proteins available. We began ranching High Plains Bison in 2006, delivering prime, prairie-fed cuts to restaurants and kitchens all across the country.
Our next natural step was crafting ready-to-eat entrées by swapping out beef with deliciously lean bison in dishes like Bison Bourguignon and Boneless Bison Short Ribs.
Soon after, we began applying a Mediterranean diet philosophy to wholesome meals—focusing on whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and sensible portion sizes. It seemed simple. It seemed smart.
PlainSmart was born.
