Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Plainville Police Department to protect and serve our community.
We seek to provide professional, ethical, and effective police services to all people.
We pledge fidelity to the United States Constitution and the Connecticut Constitution.
We will protect individual rights while impartially enforcing the law.
We affirm our mission with integrity, passion, courage, and strength.
The Plainville Police Department was organized in August of 1946. We take pride in offering the very best in police services to all citizens and in helping to promote a safe, vibrant community. Members of the Plainville Police Department subscribe to values that we consider essential to accomplish our mission: integrity, character, professionalism, and compassion.
The police department employs thirty-five full time sworn officers, six civilian dispatchers, one full time animal control officer, two part time animal control officers, two records clerks, and one administrative assistant. In addition we have six part time school crossing guards.
We believe there is a shared responsibility between the police and the citizens of Plainville to continue improving the quality of life. We encourage input from the general public as this improves our services and assists in the prevention of crime and the apprehension of offenders.
