For those living with HIV/AIDS FOOD IS MEDICINE. For more than 25 years Poverello has been providing food and nutrition to eligible Broward County individuals living with HIV/AIDS. As a nonprofit organization, Poverello relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundatios for support. While partially funded through Ryan White, Poverello also operates as a social enterprise. Revenue from Poverello's Thrift Store offsets Poverello's operating costs enabling every donated dollar to be directed to services and programs for local individuals with HIV/AIDS. With a handful of employees, Poverello is able to function and provide its excellent services through the generous donation of time and skills from hundreds of volunteers.
