This scenic preserve nestled within an urban area has been established to provide visitors an opportunity to learn about the animals, plants, & the region.
First proposed in 1985, the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve is the result of the efforts of many local residents and the Lancaster City Council. This scenic location nestled within an urban area has been established to provide visitors an opportunity to learn about the animals, plants, & the region in which we live, as well as a place to simply relax & enjoy nature.
The Preserve has an area of about 100 acres with over three miles of trails.
The hours listed on this page are for The Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center that is hosted at the Prime Desert Preserve. The trail hours are sunrise to sunset. We encourage you to come enjoy the preserve at your convenience.
