Rochester Raas is a traditional Indian dance team specializing in the forms of garba and raas from the state of Gujarat. We are a collegiate team from the University of Rochester in Upstate New York founded in 2006. Ever since, our team has been growing, and so has our passion for dancing. We have attended several competitions both in the New York region and nationally, and we are continuing to pursue more.

We pride ourselves in being one of the most diverse teams, and we love to share South Asian culture with our campus, the Greater Rochester community, and abroad.

We put energy, power, and passion into our elaborate choreography that imitates the spiritual dances of India. While we obviously come from different places, Rochester Raas is a uniting force that ignites its members to put heart into what we love, in hopes to inspire those that see us. In the end we just want to excite others with Raas just as Raas has done for us. In the end, we just want to represent Rochester with our Raas!
