Historic Roebuck Springs Holiday Tour

Deck the halls with boughs of holly in the Historic Roebuck Springs Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, November 27th, 2011 from 1:00PM - 6:00PM.

Your tour will begin in Wilson Chapel, built in 1916, and reminiscent of that famous old hymn, "the Little Brown Church in the Wildwood." The large mural on the back wall is a lovely example of rustic art, with themes from the famous Sistine Chapel.

Vans driven by Charles Dickens characters in old English attire will transport you through the winding hills of this beautiful area created in a bygone era of grace and charm. Your guide will regale you with tales of past residents and historical points of interest.

The homes on this tour will be decorated with historical and unique elements. You may even be inspired to borrow some ideas for your own holiday celebrations!

The tour will end at Gabrella Manor, the old Bundy House, built in 1938 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Once there, you may join an old-fashioned neighborhood social, where you can mingle with residents and other visitors, swap stories and get a relaxing start to your 2011 holiday season.

Santa Claus will be available for photo opportunities for a small donation. Horse and Buggy rides will also be available for a $10 donation for adults and $5 donation for children under 12.

Unwrapped toys will be accepted on behalf of the City of Birmingham Marines Toys for Tots program.

Tour Tickets are now available for a $15 donation.
