Rural/Metro Medical Services is the primary 9-1-1 ambulance in Syracuse, Town of Salina, Town of Sullivan, and also operates locations in Cayuga, Herkimer, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties
Rural/Metro Medical Services is the lifeline to the Central New York Community. Serving for nearly 60 years, Rural/Metro is an integral part of the region’s healthcare delivery system, providing the area’s only CAAS Accredited Ambulance service.
Our crews respond to more than 50,000 calls each year, treating patients in Onondaga, Cayuga, Madison, Herkimer, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties, and the Town of Sullivan in Madison County. Rural/Metro is the primary provider of ambulance services for various communities throughout our six-county service area. We work collaboratively in partnerships with volunteer agencies and healthcare organizations to provide a true integrated approach to the emergency medical needs of our region. Further, Rural/Metro funds the EMSupport Grant, administered by the Central New York Community Foundation, which is designed to provide organizations with funds for medical equipment and supplies.
In addition to ambulance transportation services, Rural/Metro of Syracuse is the
area’s largest American Heart Association training center. Additional education opportunities are available for New York State EMT, New York State Department of Health CME recertification program, and other continuing education training courses.
