St. James Emmaus Ministry reaches out to all in Syracuse, especially the poor, hungry and homeless.
Saint James Emmaus Ministry brings the presence of the Catholic Church to the poor, hungry, marginalized, and homeless of the south side and city of Syracuse, New York. We strive to put flesh to the Gospels through our Corporal Works of Mercy...to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick, shelter the homeless, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead. Through ministries such as washing the feet of the homeless; providing haircuts to the homeless; bringing thousands of meals to the poor--sheltered men, women and children and individuals living under bridges and in encampments; offering neighborhood cookouts in the poorest of areas; and supporting various after-school programs for disadvantaged youth, we are able to act as disciples bringing unconditional love and hope. With this love and hope...lives can be transformed!
