Sammamish Youth Writing Club

The SYWC is a place where writers can feel at home. Come for writing workshops, peer edits, monthly prompts and publication opportunities!

Every Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. at the Sammamish Library
Youth ages 10-18 can edit each other’s work and give input from the point of view of a fellow passionate writer.
Members can both bring their personal writings to the club and work on monthly projects designed for the club.
Local authors and writers like Michael Dylan Welch, Erika Mitchell, Neil Pierson, and Pat White will make appearances in their individual writing genres.
There will be several opportunities for the club members to showcase their finished works.
The Issaquah Press has agreed to post the kids’ and teens’ finished works on their website, and the members will be given information about poetry slams and other opportunities.
Writers will develop the skills necessary to excel in school and college essays, and write fantastic works outside of school, all of which they will be able to share with people who have their same passion.
