Sandy Springs Woman's Club

Arts, Conservation, Education, HomeLife and International Affairs

Founded in 1948 as the first civic club in the Sandy Springs community and federated in 1949.
We are members of the Georgia Federation of Women’s Club and a member of the General Federation of Women’s Club. Our roots can be traced to 1868 when New York Journalist, Jane Cunningham formed a women’s club. SSWC is part of one of the world largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational, women’s volunteer service organizations. The General Federal Federation of Women's Clubs founded in 1890 and chartered by the 56th United State Congress in 1901 has been a unifying force, bringing together local women's clubs from around the country and throughout the world. Although there is considerable diversity in the ages, interests, and experiences of GFWC clubwomen, all are united by a dedication to community improvement through volunteer service.
