The Code 30 Foundation provides immediate financial assistance to the families of active Sheriff’s Office employees who are seriously injured or pass away.
The Code 30 Foundation was established in 2013 after three active members of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office were killed in on- and off-duty-related accidents and/or illnesses in less than a year. These sudden deaths revealed the need to provide immediate financial assistance to the families to assist with funeral expenses as well as bills, mortgage payments, etc. Within days of starting the Code 30 Foundation, a fourth Sheriff’s Office employee was seriously injured and eventually died.
The Code 30 Foundation is not publicly funded and relies completely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to raise monies to help families in their hour of need.
