An all volunteer organization, we are dedicated to protecting the beauty and nature of one of our city’s greatest treasures – Winfrey Point!

Winfrey Point Park is located on the eastern shores of White Rock Lake. An urban oasis, the lake is situated on 1,000 acres and is approximately 9 miles around.

Located in the heart of Dallas, Texas, the lake promotes cycling, running, walking, rowing, kayaking, sailing, bird watching, picnicking, enthusiasm for being outdoors and enjoying nature.

Winfrey Point Park is the site of cultural activities, athletic ball fields, community events, easy lake access for sports enthusiasts and contains several acres of protected Blackland Prairie grasses.

The parking at Winfrey is currently used by residents who take advantage of the lakes amenities, little league, other ball clubs and parents in DISD whose kids are in softball and baseball.

Untouched Blackland Prairie, located within an urban environment, is unique! The endangered ecosystem is home to rare birds, plants and threatened wildlife, who manage rodent control in the city, naturally.

In the recent past, the City of Dallas' efforts to protect and preserve the urban Blackland Prairie has earned the Dallas Park System the Texas Land Steward award for their efforts...
