The Schoolhouse Nine Golf Course is a unique public nine hole Par 3 design based on interesting, artistic golf architecture and a responsible, resource efficient business model. The goals of the project are to provide fun sport for golfers of all skill levels, develop an ecologically rich landscape and to provide important social and economic benefits to the community. The design and business model are founded on sustainable values, standards and practices.

The golf course will consist of nine Par 3 holes and a practice putting green. All non-play areas will be maintained as wildlife habitat focusing on quail habitat. Irrigated turfgrass areas will be limited to the ten putting greens. Tees, fairways and roughs will be managed without supplemental irrigation. The green areas total 1.4 acres. The tee, fairway and rough areas total approximately 12 acres. Approximately 12 acres of the proposed development are dedicated to wildlife habitat. The habitat areas are located on the north side of the property buffering the golf course from Lee Highway and the south side of the property creating a high quality wildlife habitat area adjacent to the Thornton River.
