The Silver Spring Community Fire Company is a 100% all Volunteer Fire Company.
The Silver Spring Community Fire Co, provides Fire/Rescue services to the residents of Silver Spring Township. The Silver Spring Community Fire Company covers 33 square miles of first due territory and answers an average of 600 calls per year. We also provide mutual aid services to the surrounding Townships and Municipalities.
Apparatus
Company 31 houses 5 pieces of fire apparatus.
Engine 31 is a 2005 E-One CAFS Pumper that seats 6. It has a 2000 GPM Pump with class A foam, CAFS and class B foam capabilities and a 1000 gallon tank. Engine 31 is the primary response apparatus for fire related incidents.
Tanker 31 is 1993 E-One Pumper/Tanker that seats 7. It has a 1500 GPM Pump with a 2500 gallon tank. Tanker 31 is the secondary apparatus for fire related incidents and serves as a water shuttle in rural operations.
Rescue 31 is a 1999 E-One Rescue that seats 5. It has a 16ft Non-walkin Rescue Body and an Amkus Rescue System. Rescue 31 is the primary response apparatus for all rescue calls and serves in a support role for fire related incidents.
Mini Pumper 31 is 2000 E-One/Ford F-550 that seats 2. It has a 400 GPM Pump with class A foam capabilities and a 400 gallon tank. Mini Pumper 31 serves as an urban interface/brush response apparatus.
Traffic 31 is 2001 Ford F-450 that seats 2. It has a traffic control board and assorted traffic control and scene safety devices. Traffic 31 is staffed by Silver Spring Community Fire Company's dedicated Fire Police unit. Traffic 31 responds along with fire apparatus to provide pre-warning and scene safety.
