Hunted, fished & foraged in Alaska.
Sitka Wild Foods began in the galley of a World War II tugboat in Sitka Alaska. Over fresh-caught king salmon, two contractors involved in sustainable building and architectural salvage decided to do their best to bring wild meat, seafood and foraged mushrooms, seaweed and greens to the Lower 48 in a sustainable, small-scale manner. As well as sharing the wild fare of a subsistence lifestyle with folks down south, they committed themselves to connecting the stories of people who make their living off the land in Alaska with restauranteurs, grocers, and the wider world at large. Sustainably-harvested fish, venison, berries, mushrooms and greens make up the heart of our project, gathered, packaged, and sent with conscientious, proud foodies in mind.
