Smith-Liang vacation home in south Florida
Our house is on half an acre, bordered by 2 canals, with no neighbours beside, and the Myakka State Forest behind us, across the canal in the back. It is very quiet and private. We routinely see birds overhead and on the lawn, and fish and turtles in the canals.
For beach lovers, Englewood Beach is an easy 10 minute drive away and always worth it. Boca Grande is slightly farther away, across a causeway, but the island's beaches are always beautiful and quiet. Venice beach is a little farther away and has more people and activities.
For baseball lovers, Port Charlotte Sports Park is home to spring training for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the regular park for the minor league Stone Crabs. Games are always easy to go to.
Art lovers will enjoy the Dali museum in St. Petersburg.
Circus lovers will enjoy the Ringling museum in Sarasota. The grounds are free to walk around and spectacular, for those who just enjoy interesting architecture, beautiful gardens, banyan trees, and views of the gulf.
We are close to Naples and Fort Myers to the south, Tampa, Sarasota, and St Pete to the north. Always plenty to do!
