Career Academy is a career-focused middle school and high school. It opened in August, 2011, with 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Currently, accepting enrollment in grades 7 - 12 and in the process of adding 5th & 6th grades for Fall 2014 with approval. The plan is to have approximately 100 students per grade level.

The Academy believes project-based learning will be advantageous for two reasons. First, project-based learning will appeal to students who do not already have a strong academic orientation. Second, project-based learning is beneficial for the development of work-oriented skills, including the ability to work in teams, personal initiative, leadership, and communication skills. To the extent practical, project-based learning will be used at all grade levels.

Students will be required to complete all courses required by Indiana’s academic standards, and will gradually take more vocational classes as they progress through school, with significant opportunities (including internships, co-ops, job shadows, informational interviews, etc.) available in the junior and senior years.
