Southern Tropics Shaved Ice was established in 1988, by owners Jim and Stephanie Rainey. A seasonal business, they are open from March 1st thru September of each year. They are located off Stateline Ave., behind Holiday Bowl, at 116 E 35th Street. Starting off in an 8'x10' little green building, the Rainey's have perfected the art of shaved ice as the decades rolled past. From the original "Homemade Ice Cream" to the most sour flavor around, "White Lightning", there is a flavor for all tastes.
