SPAMTA-Stevens Point Area Music Teachers Association - (715) 204-4071

Welcome to the home page the Stevens Point Music Teachers Association!

SPAMTA meets at 10:00 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month (September through May) at Mitchell Piano Works in Stevens Point. We are an organization of independent and collegiate music teachers who have banded together to help and learn from each other as we also grow in our professional careers of teaching music to people of all ages. By working and sharing together, we have grown in numbers, in experience and in our capacity to offer our students quality music instruction. Our monthly teacher enrichment workshops include topics such as: business development, performance anxiety, performance preparation, how music affects the brain, teaching improvisation, incorporating technology into the studio. We provide arts outreach and education programs for the community as well as students scholarships and grants (for students and teachers). Some of the reasons why members value SPAMTA is for opportunities to collaborate with other teachers in the area, performance opportunities for students, group support, ways to help your business grow, helpful members willing to share their expertise, excellent resources through monthly speakers and UW-Stevens Point music faculty.

SPAMTA serves independent and collegiate teachers in Portage and Wood County. Meetings are conducted during the school year, on the second Wednesday of each month and are held at Mitchell Piano Works, 3201 Main Street, Stevens Point. Our meetings are always free and open to the public.
