Sparks Cheerleading, part of the non-profit organization Putting the Pieces Together, is a team of special needs boys and girls who perform throughout NJ.
Putting the Pieces Together is a non-profit organization that provides recreational sports opportunities for children with special needs. These programs are funded through participation, fundraising activities, and donations. Sparks Cheerleading was created by Deborah Wertalik in 2008 and took off in 2010 when Tara Banuls and Danielle Choinski became head coaches. From hand-me-down uniforms to creating their own bows, the team has grown throughout the years to new levels of cheer difficulty and confidence. The team's commitment has helped their motor skills, socialization, and self-esteem. Most of all, the team and loved ones have become a support system and one big cheer family.
