Located at 3701 Charles Blvd, Suite 104, Greenville NC. Promotes optimal health through workshops, demos, locally sourced meals, films, seminars & more! With our new storefront, we also continue to grow our Real Food offerings from as many local sources as possible, as well as non-local sources!

Spring Run Market is a unique concept, different from your typical farmer's market! We offer a variety of fresh, local and organic: meats and seafood, in-season produce, eggs, fresh and dried herbs, sprouted and whole grain baked items, canned & jarred items, fresh juices, dairy items, gluten-free snacks, plus an array of other locally raised and produced foods. We offer year-round service at our new storefront (fall 2014). We also provide an online market...and ordering has never been easier, with your choice at checkout of paying at-market or through Paypal!

Our philosphy is to:
EAT FOOD AS CLOSE TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE AS POSSIBLE, WITH NO ADDITIVES, FED OR RAISED ON ITS NATURAL DIET IN ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT WITH NO CHEMICALS USED, AND WITH AN EMPHASIS ON FRESH FRUITS, VEGGIES and CLEAN MEATS!
Spring Run This Fall/Winter Season

Some changes are a-happening at Spring Run this season!
Our goal all along has been to expand into a permanent location with our local market/co-op, a cafe with smoothie/juice bar, and an area for workshops that, in accordance with the results of a local survey we've been conducting, will focus on food prep workshops! Our team is now creating a place that folks can come to get healthy through food (fresh & prepared), as well as a place where they can learn how to prepare those foods and apply it to their health goals, plus integrative/ holistic practitioners and fitness experts can teach and promote their own goals toward that end...all for the health of our community. Devica Urwick, owner/founder of Spring Run Market, forever has the nurse's heart, and will always be making sure that those goals will be in place, esp through the area of food and fitness :)

Non-food items are prevalent during the holiday months of November and December, and may include locally produced clothing, jewelry, natural body care products and more! We directly support our local non-profit, ENC Stop Human Trafficking, who brings a wide selection of unique gifts that are beautiful, as well as Fair Trade.

What Spring Run has been
and continues to be....

Since we had our first tiny market in Dec of 2008, and then in September of 2009 when we had our first major market by Pizzaz in Arlington Village, we have been on a journey that has been fun and rewarding, to ourselves as well as our farms and vendors. We've put a lot of time and work into keeping the website and social media updated, transporting our goods and set-up equipment every week back and forth from our house, picking up from the farms each week, and actually setting up and breaking down an open-air market every Sat for over 4 years...but it has been worth every second, as the memories of helping each individual that walked up to our market, as well as the memories made with each of our farms and vendors, are something that to us are priceless and make it all more than worth the effort. Our open market beginnings will be bittersweet to leave behind...*tears*

But... all things must change. And we believe that expanding by bringing more folks on board, as well as moving into a permanent place where people can obtain what we offer every day, are changes for the better. We will truly miss the fun and fellowship of the open market atmosphere if we move into a brick and mortar place, but rest assured...we will keep the link between the farm and the customer as strong as possible through a number of ways...parking lot market days, "meet your farmer" days in-store, videos online, and more! Plus you'll see a number of our vendors at the store often, if not every day!

We will always be promoting that which our market strongly represents...optimal health leading to abundant living! Optimal health is the hallmark of our market, and our continued goal is to raise awareness of the importance of good, wholesome and fresh local foods, as well as organics and sustainability.

Spring Run continues to be about promoting fresh and prepared foods that are organically grown, transitional organic, ASH-free, sourdough and sprouted, and other such health-promoting practices and ingredients. This means that the farms/vendors that apply must meet our criteria to be members of Spring Run. We still visit every farm or vendor that applies, to ask questions of them and view their operation to find out if their practices truly meet that criteria.

Our philosophy of health is deeply embedded in such advocates of health and nutrition as Sally Fallon, Weston Price, Dr. Mercola, Jordan Rubin, and Michael Pollan. We do not support any one popular diet, but Paleo/Primal, as well as a Biblical diet most closely resemble our food choices, and what we recommend to our customers. (See our page that compares Paleo, Primal, and Biblical diets.)

Spring Run is a member of and supports such organizations as Slow Food, Eat Well Guide, Got to Be NC, CEFS, Local Harvest, Holistic Moms, and NC Farm Fresh. We support such local organizations and businesses as Slow Food Down East, Holistic Health Practitioners, Uptown Greenville, Nature's Goodness, Touch Matters, I Heart My Spine, and locally sourced restaurants such as Tipsy Teapot, The Scullery, and Starlight Cafe. We welcome anyone in the area that has a product or service that is either locally produced, and/or is real food or fitness oriented, to come and join us!
Our Vision:

Spring Run Market was created to fill a vast need here in our area - to make fresh, local, organic foods easily accessible and affordable. Up until we started our market, there was no system of organizing these foods!

Our vision encompasses:
• providing alternative marketing opportunities for our valuable growers and producers of eastern NC’s agricultural commodities
• helping promote the sale of such products
• making organically, locally, and sustainably produced foods more affordable by bringing the foods from many local farms to central points
• providing an educational forum and physical center for any health practitioner, health coach, fitness coach, etc to share their knowledge, and for consumers to educate themselves by SR providing classes and workshops on optimal health, true nutrition, organics, the uses and benefits of quality, locally grown foods and more!
• providing community involvement by planning and organizing such events as film showings, locally sourced meals, farm tours, on-site market demos, healthy living seminars….the list is endless!
• long-term goal of expanding into a permanent location, encompassing a market/co-op, workshop center, integrative and alternative health practitioners, and locally sourced cafe/smoothie bar with a seasonal menu

We invite you to post your ideas, requests, and critiques as we continue on with this community effort to a healthier lifestyle!

We're so glad you stopped by our page! We are excited that you have an interest in local, fresh organic foods, and it is our sincere wish that we can assist you in some way toward a healthier lifestyle!
