A locally supported work/life skills training cooperative, linking at-risk, work-capable interns with local businesses and mentor-coaches to foster positive community and personal development.
INTERN: Work 8 hours per week; attend 2 classes monthly; 1 monthly volunteer service project; and demonstrate good conduct.
BUSINESS OR ORGANIZATION: Supervise participant at all times while on site; provide instruction for work skills suitable for future gainful employment.
MENTOR-COACHES: Be the liaison between the participant, work site, and program coordinator encouraging positive progress throughout all program steps.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Solicit and coordinate program participation, community awareness and monitor overall program effectiveness and volunteer well-being.
FUNDING: Stanwood Community Ministries has agreed to cover the administrative operating costs of the program for the first year. 100% of community donations will be used to fund the interns who participate in the program.
DONATIONS: The cost to support each participant in the program is $320 per month. The number of interns in the program will be based primarily on the level of support obtained from the community and the availability of intern advocates.
