Stony Brook University Pre-Occupational Therapy Society

The purpose of the Stony Brook Pre-Occupational Therapy Society is to create a strong foundation for all students interested in pursuing OT as a career! :)

The purpose of the Stony Brook Pre-Occupational Therapy Society is to create a strong foundation for all students interested in pursuing Occupational Therapy as a profession in health care. Guest speakers such as students in the Stony Brook OT Program along with staff members of the OT Department at Stony Brook University will provide members with valuable information on what it is like as a student in OT as well as what is expected for prospective students. Meetings are 2 times a month. Volunteering trips will be scheduled to help students fulfill their requirements as well as get hands on experience. The ultimate goal is to better each individual’s chance on being accepted to his or her OT program of choice as well as fusing his or her own unique skills into their application process. For those who want to learn more about OT, each meeting will hold lectures on what OT exactly is and how is it different from other fields such as PT (Physical Therapy).
