Every year SHCF teams up with the local fire department and the City of Pembroke Park to host a holiday toy drive benefitting local families.
This year marks the 6th year of the toy drive and we are hoping to reach even more families struggling during the holiday season. For most of the children, this will be the only gift that they will receive. To kick-off the event, Santa will arrive on a fire truck and take a photo with each child/family. Each child will receive a gift with a value of $20-25, a photo of their special day with Santa as well as a $25 gift card for each family to a local grocery store.
In early 2015, we will begin our fundraising efforts for the Back to School event. Many families cannot meet the demands placed on the community to compensate for supply shortages from the school system. Our goal is to alleviate that demand by donating school supplies to local schools in need. Every child deserves the tools for success!
We look forward to many more years of giving back with the help of friends, family and the business community.
In 2014, Stratton Home Charitable Foundation was founded by The Merkur & Siegel families in the memory of Joel and became an official tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation ensures that the tradition and vision that Joel Merkur started, in helping children and their families within our community, continues.
