The idea of Strongwater began in 1997 when a group of local citizens wanted to integrate philanthropic with land conservation goals. Strongwater was incorporated as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization on September 4, 1998. Strongwater operates through the continued efforts of dedicated volunteers, from the Board of Directors to those whose functions include working at the barn, on the grounds, in therapeutic sessions and in the administration of our programs.
Our Programs:
EAAT (Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies)
EAAT programs provide mounted and unmounted equine activities with therapeutic benefits for a range of participants with different needs and disabilities.
Riding Lessons and General Horsemanship
Strongwater Farm provides riding lessons as well as lessons in horsemanship to the general public
Special Programs
These include a variety of seasonal, special request, and special occasion programs. Current and past programs include Horses for Heroes (program for veterans), school vacation week and week long summer sessions, after school programs including boy/ girl scouts, Boston University Community Services for individuals with disabilities, Special Olympics, and Student Show
