We aim to assist members in exploring careers in the profession and provide community service opportunities for professional growth and leadership.
Most students entering the pharmacy profession will agree that serving others is an important aspect of why they chose pharmacy. Student Alliance is an organization that provides students with service opportunities while preparing for their future careers in every area of pharmacy. When you join Student Alliance, you become a member of the two largest national pharmacy organizations and Utah’s two state organizations.
* National Organizations:
-American Pharmacist Association(APhA)
-American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP)
* State Organizations:
-Utah Pharmacist Association(UPhA)
-Utah Society of Health Systems Pharmacists(USHP)
Student Alliance helps you prepare for your professional career and develop your CV. This will enable you to become a competitive candidate while applying for jobs, residencies, fellowships, etc. Each year we bring in pharmacists from various areas of pharmacy to discuss opportunities in the field of pharmacy.We also provide workshops for professional development. These include:
- CV Workshop
- Letter of Intent Workshop
- Poster Presentations
- Journal Club in preparation for the P2 year.
- P2 and P3 round tables—these help prepare you for your
succeeding year.
We provide a Critical Care Lecture Series with a certificate of completion to help you prepare for clinical rotations. We visit elementary schools and present information about prescription drugs and proper disposal.
We strongly advocate community service and help members acquire the necessary skill set to preform exceptionally as student pharmacists, all while representing Roseman University. Some of these skills include:
- Blood glucose testing
- Cholesterol testing
- Asthma testing
- Immunization administration
- Brown bag medication review
Getting involved in Student Alliance events helps you get to know students, employers, preceptors, and faculty from all across the country. The cost of membership is as follows and is good for a full year at the time of purchase:
- APhA membership fee: $45
- ASHP membership fee: $45
- Student Alliance membership fee: $27
- UPhA: $10

We are all poor pharmacy students and may be asking ourselves if we can afford to pay for Student Alliance. The real question should be “Can we afford not to pay?”
