Sunny Side Hot Air Balloon
A tradition began in 1979 when the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention and Tourism Bureau started flying the Sunny Side of Louisville Balloon. Many years later, the Sunny Side balloon is a well known local icon and continues to be a crowd favorite.
The Sunny Side balloon is piloted by Jerry Cowles. He's been flying balloons for over 30 years. Our crew volunteers countless hours every year to helping the balloon fly. Our registration number is N679SS.
Our hot air balloon is a Cameron Z105. That's 105,000 cubic feet of air inside a ripstop nylon envelope.
