Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. (SMNF) is a non-profit organization located on the southwest side of the City of Syracuse.
Established in 1975, Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. (SMNF), a non-profit organization is the managing entity of the City of Syracuse owned Southwest Community Center (SWCC) located at 401 South Avenue. SWCC, in the tradition of settlement houses also known as community or neighborhood centers, provides services and activities designed to identify and reinforce the strengths of individuals, families and communities. SMNF provides a refuge for people in crisis with a variety of services to meet a number of social, health, economic and nutritional needs. May, 2013 Sharon F. Owens became the third Director in the agency’s history and envisions expanded services that infuse human service provision with community revitalization initiatives to further serve the community.
