Tallgrass Retrievers was established in 2014 to produce the perfect outdoors companion "The Tallgrass Way."

Tallgrass Retrievers was established in 2014 to produce the perfect outdoors companion. A capable working dog by day, and fireside companion by night. Each puppy from our litters is individually evaluated to ensure a perfect match with their new family.

Our breeding stock is produced from championship lines and selected based upon Intelligence, Trainability, Calm Temperament, Conformation and Exceptional Health, to meet the breed standard "The Tallgrass Way".

Our breeding program is proven through service as family companions, upland and waterfowl guide dogs, explosive and narcotic detection dogs, diabetic alert dogs, and titles in both field and conformation events. We offer all three colors Black, Yellow and Chocolate.

The Owner, Sam Karr, is a registered breeder with the American Kennel Club and an active member of the Jayhawk Retriever Club and American Pointing Labrador Association.
