I started this venture due to my desire to return to a preschool environment. I was working as a foster care caseworker when I realized that I wanted to spend more than a few hours a week with these children. I had previously been an Early Head Start Home Visitor and I missed seeing the look of excitement on children’s faces when they learned new things. I missed writing lesson plans, doing circle time, and watching children learn and grow. I realized that this truly is my passion, and I had a strong desire to return to the classroom. It was this desire, coupled with my desire to spend more time with my own child, which led me to start doing in home child care. As a family child care provider, my goal is to provide a safe and happy environment for each child that will stimulate their physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth at their own pace. I offer loving care that focuses on each child as a unique and wonderful individual and in doing so, builds self-esteem and respect for others.
