This Official Temple Police Department (GA) Facebook page was established for the purpose of the positive promotion and communication of City business, programs, services, initiatives and events. It is not a medium on which to file individual complaints, concerns, opinions, or service requests. Such issues will not be addressed via social media, but will be diverted to alternate means of communication, such as email, telephone and face-to-face meetings.

Citizens are encouraged to comment -- responsibly -- on the topics at hand and share information with their contacts. Only comments related to the topic being discussed are permitted. All other such comments are subject to removal and/or the user being banned from further commentary. To the extent that advertising or political messages are posted, or any profile is changed to reflect any political message or advertising, the County neither endorses nor advocates such message or advertising, and it will be removed from the site, per this policy.

All content on the City’s Facebook page is subject to the Georgia Open Records law. By becoming a friend of Temple and/or posting on the City’s wall, your information will be a matter of public record. The City is required to retain this information in accordance with the State of Georgia retention schedule. This may include information on your own Facebook page. All comments will be maintained for a minimum of 30 days after a forum has ended.

Keep in mind however, that by "Liking" or posting to the Temple Police Department page, access/visibility of your personal Facebook page is still controlled by your security settings.

Any pages "liked" by the Temple Police Department does not, in any way, indicate support of that page or any postings on that page.

Guidelines & Limitations for All Users

- The conversation shall always remain civil and respectful.

- In an effort to limit spam, back and forth communications will be hidden or diverted to other means of communication, such as telephone, email, or face-to-face meetings.

- Personal attacks, vulgar language, violent comments, discriminatory and/or inflammatory posts are prohibited. If a comment is determined to be in violation of this policy, such posts will be removed.

- Elected officials are prohibited from discussing campaigns, issues, and other political matters on City accounts.

- Campaigning – on behalf of or against political candidates or referendums – is prohibited.

- Violations to this policy may result in removal of access to the service.

- This Social Media Policy shall be revised as needed.

- "Liking" the Temple Police Department Facebook page shall constitute an acceptance of this policy.
