For 30 years the Academy of Dance Arts has provided quality dance training for students of all ages.
The Academy of Dance Arts is where elite training meets inclusive community!
For 30 years we have educated students of all levels and ages in the Art of Dance. You don’t have to audition or want a career in dance to enroll at ADA. We think of dance as a study and we think the fun part is getting good at it, not just knowing the steps!
Knowing the technique behind the steps, and knowing how to apply that technique physically is what makes a dancer great and we specialize in teaching this in a way that is exciting and challenging! While other dance schools focus on learning a dance routine to perform at a recital or competitions, we train dancers to be knowledgeable about their art and their bodies, to be conscious in their movements and to enjoy dancing!
Founded by Jennifer Church in 1985, the Academy started with about 150 students in a 3 story walk up on Monmouth Street. Word spread about the quality of dance training offered at the Academy and by 1996, with more than 500 students, the Academy had outgrown its location and moved into 10,000 square feet at 59 Chestnut street. In 2008, Mrs. Church passed the position of artistic director on to Nicholas and Shayne Mishoe. Mr. and Mrs. Mishoe relocated the Academy in 2014 and continue the tradition of excellence at the Academy's new state of the art facility at 70 Apple Street in Tinton Falls.
