The original location for the Black Dog Bakery. Today serving breakfast, including our Classic Woofer, coffee and a variety of soups and sandwiches on our Bakery bread. Or just stop in for some of your favorite Black Dog Bakery treats!

Opened in 1973, the Water Street Bakery building was once Vineyard Haven’s Firehouse. In addition to desserts, muffins and breads, The Black Dog Bakery was also where the first Black Dog tee shirts were sold.

Bakery demand eventually outgrew this space too, and all of our baking is now done at our Bakery Café on State Road. Not to worry though, freshly baked cookies, ginger snaps, pumpkin-cream cheese muffins, small cakes and scones are among the tantalizing array of fresh-baked goods still available at The Water Street Bakery Annex. An array of sandwiches and soups are also available, including The Black Dog's famous clam chowder and of course there is always hot coffee. Other items available at this location include the famous Breakfast Woofer Sandwich, freshly made sandwiches, coffee, pastries, donuts, granola and more. You will also find a retail store keeping alive the tradition of the Black Dog Classic T-Shirt.
